Kitschy Kitschy Cool

If you had to describe Tomodachi, you might say it has an Asian-Hawaiian flavor (“Tomodachi” is Japanese for “friend”). 


You might comment on the bright colors and the lively characters. 


You might liken it to a “Where’s Waldo” game, with lots of hidden figures; the longer you look, the more you find!

We just think it’s fun!  We threw them all together in a quilt and look what happened!

“Toy Box” is by Janet Mednick, who used only the pieces in the collection.  You can download the pattern HERE. 

Susan Schwarting’s quilt, “Prairie Point Peek-a-Boo,” hides characters in the fabric under the three-dimensional flaps.


Her quilt will be available on our website soon as a free download. 


Susan is known for her Victorian crazy quilting, so she had all sorts of ideas about embellishing the characters with beads and sequins (for eyes, flower centers, hair ornaments).  The possibilities are endless!

Such Stuff As Daydreams Are Made On.

Don’t you love the dreamy look of the main print from our Daydreams collection?

The fanciful flowers, the birds in flight and other winged beings, all come together to create a charming contemporary look.  Here is the rest of the collection:

We love the tree print!  It has fresh colors and such a modern look.

Our quilters dreamed up two terrific projects.  The first is by Corey Yoder and it gives a new twist to the old classic Irish Chain pattern:

The scrappy style is anchored effectively with one background fabric.  You can find directions here or click on the quilt.
